With Earth Day upon us, we wanted to take a moment to share something that sits at the heart of everything we do at VENT for Change – the belief that progress is already happening all around us.

From quiet breakthroughs in nature to bold environmental action across the globe, there are countless stories reminding us that change is not only possible, it is already in motion.

This Earth Day, we’re celebrating those stories.

Inspiring change from around the world

In the dry hills of Lima, researchers have taken inspiration from cactus skin to create innovative nets that capture water from fog. These are collecting drinking water in one of the world’s driest environments. A simple idea, rooted in nature, can help to provide millions of litres of water worldwide.

In the Amazon rainforest, scientists have discovered a fungus (Pestalotiopsis microspora) capable of breaking down plastic. A natural organism, evolving a response to one of humanity’s most pressing waste problems.

In the Galápagos Islands, 158 juvenile giant tortoises have been returned to their natural habitat after 180 years. This is quietly restoring balance to an ecosystem shaped over centuries.

Across the world, governments and communities are also stepping forward: from statewide plastic bag bans in California to pioneering geothermal energy projects in Cornwall, harnessing heat from deep underground to generate cleaner power for the future.

We use recycled, reclaimed and sustainable materials wherever possible, reducing waste and giving materials a second life. But sustainability is never just about what something is made from. It is about the full journey.

From concept and design, to careful production, to the hands that pack and prepare each order, every step matters.

Because a product’s impact doesn’t end when it is made, it continues every time it is used, gifted, or carried into a new idea.
